Cantilever Calibration We have developed a series of technical notes that describe different methods of cantilever calibration: Nondestructive Added Mass (Cleveland Added Mass) Method These notes discuss the various spring constant calibration techniques and how they are performed. You may download a PDF copy of each note by selecting the title above. John Sader, from the University of Melbourne, has developed a web site where you can use his methods to calibrate both normal and torsional spring constants of cantilevers. Additional information on spring constants can be found in the technical presentation presented at STM '01, "Look Ma, No Hands! Quantifying Molecular Forces: Sensitivities and Spring Constants Without Touching the Surface," by Drs. Roger Proksch, Jason Cleveland, Asylum Research. You may download a copy of the abstract. For general questions on spring constants, please e-mail us at support@AsylumResearch.com. |
